The new eraof local hiring.

One place where local employers and workers find each other, based on experience, evidence, and expectations.

Applying got easy. Hiring got harder.

AI writes a resume in seconds, and it reads perfect. So the shop gets a pile of polished paper and still meets people who can't do the work.

The worker who can do it gets buried in that pile. Or never gets a fair look, because a resume was never built to show what they've done, what backs it up, and what they're after.

Both sides wanted one good conversation. Neither got one.

The usual ways to hire don't hold up anymore.

Job boards

Anyone can apply in one tap, so everyone does. You get volume, not quality. And the best workers, the ones who already have a job, aren't on there at all.

Resumes

A resume used to take a Sunday. Now it takes ten seconds. It tells you what someone wrote, not what they can do. A great worker often has a bad one.

Recruiters

Weeks to fill, and a percentage of salary when they do. Built for office roles, priced for office roles. For the floor, the shop is on its own.

Alternative options are slow, unreliable, or low quality.None of them gets you to a real conversation.

A resume is one claim about a person. We look at three things.

  • Experience

What they've actually done. The work, the years, the tools, in their own words.

  • Evidence

What backs it up. Answers about the work, skills, certifications, references.

  • Expectations

What would make a job worth talking about. Pay, shift, commute, availability, and what would make someone consider switching jobs.

You don't hire papers. You hire people.

PinPalFive years is a lot of frames. What thickness were you running most days?

Example conversation

Instead of a resume, a conversation about the work.

Every worker on Lokals talks with PinPal once. A few minutes, on a phone, in plain words.

PinPal asks what you've actually done. Where, for how long, with what. Then it asks a little more about the answers, the way a good foreman would. When it has heard enough, it stops.

No trick questions. No writing. Pick it up later if you get interrupted.

For workers

Say it once. Every local employer who wants to talk with you hears about your work from that one conversation. You never fill in another application.

For employers

This is where the evidence comes from. A resume can be written by a tool in ten seconds. A conversation about the last job can't. Every person you meet has already talked it through.

One place. Two sides. A conversation in the middle.

If you're looking for work

  1. Create one profile.

Tell us what you've done and what you're looking for. No resume required.

  2. Talk with PinPal about your work.

A few minutes, once. Not for every job.

  3. Hear about local opportunities that fit.

When an employer wants to talk, you decide whether to take the call.

If you're hiring

  1. Tell us the job you need to fill.

    Role, pay, shift, location, must-haves.

  2. We check our pool first.

You hear how many active local people fit before you spend anything.

  3. Meet the people you pick.

Invite the ones you like. They accept. A 15-minute Pre-Interview lands on your calendar.

Tell us who you need

Lokals recommends. The employer invites. The worker accepts. Then you talk.

Many of the people you want already have a job.

They'd switch jobs for a better shift, better pay, or a shorter drive. Nobody asked.

We go find the whole local pool, the ones looking and the ones quietly open, and stay in touch until the right job comes up.

So when you tell us who you need, we're not posting and waiting. We're checking who's already here.

Actively looking. The only ones a job board reaches.
Quietly open to a better shift, pay, or commute.

Pay for conversations. Not applications. Not placement fees.

Commute, shift, and who you already know matter more than any keyword. So we match people to jobs town by town, not by blasting a resume everywhere.

Need more answers?

Answers to the questions we hear most.

Do I need a resume?

No. You create one profile and talk with PinPal about the work you've done. That conversation, plus any certifications and references you add, is what employers see.

What does it cost employers?

You buy Pre-Interview credits. One credit is one completed 15-minute call. No job posts, no monthly fee, no percentage of anyone's salary. We quote the credit price on the phone.

Is Lokals free for workers?

Yes. Always. Your profile is never posted publicly and nobody calls you until you have said yes to a specific job.

What is a Pre-Interview?

A 15-minute phone call between the employer and the worker, booked onto the employer's calendar, before any formal interview. The employer calls; Lokals sets it up and stays out of the call.

What if the pool is thin for my role?

We check our pool first. If there aren't enough people who fit your role, shift, and commute, we go find more: databases and one-to-one outreach, including people who already have a job.

Who sees my profile?

Only employers whose job you have said yes to. Before that, an employer sees an anonymized preview: role, years, processes, shift, distance. Your name and contact details stay hidden until you accept an invite.

Where does Lokals work?

Across Canada, town by town, for hourly and trades roles. We check our pool first, then find more people near your job through one-to-one outreach.

Do employers need an account?

No. We set things up with you and book Pre-Interviews onto your calendar. A private Hiring Room for each job is coming soon.

Better hiring starts here.

Two paths. One place. Pick yours.
