Terms for Workers

These Terms govern your use of Lokals as a worker or job seeker. Lokals is a product of Benske & Co. Inc. ("Lokals," "we," "us").

What Lokals does

Lokals helps workers connect with potential employers. You can create a profile, describe your experience, skills and expectations, complete a guided Work Interview, and indicate whether you are interested in opportunities presented to you.

Lokals is not your employer and does not guarantee employment, interviews, compensation, hours, job offers or any other outcome.

Lokals is free for workers

Lokals does not charge workers for access to employment opportunities, introductions to employers or finding work.

Your information

You agree to provide information that is accurate to the best of your knowledge and not intentionally misleading.

You are responsible for keeping important profile information current, including your experience, credentials, availability, location, work authorization and employment preferences.

Introductions to employers

Lokals may use your profile to identify opportunities that could fit your experience and expectations.

We may show employers limited or anonymized information about potential matches. We will not provide an employer with your private contact information simply because they appear interested in you.

Where an employer invites you to connect, you can accept or decline. When you accept an introduction, we may share the information necessary for that employer to evaluate and contact you, as explained to you at the time.

You choose who you talk to.

AI and automated tools

Lokals uses software and artificial intelligence to help conduct Work Interviews, organize information, identify skills, summarize evidence and recommend potential matches.

AI recommendations are not guarantees of qualification or employment suitability. Lokals does not use AI to make the employer's final hiring decision. Employers make their own hiring decisions.

Credentials and references

Unless information is expressly marked as verified by Lokals, you should not assume that Lokals has independently verified it.

You authorize us to contact references or verify credentials only where you have provided permission or where the feature clearly tells you verification will occur.

Communications

We may send operational messages necessary to provide the service, such as opportunity invitations, Match notifications, booking confirmations, reminders and account/security messages.

If you consent to receive text messages from Lokals, message frequency varies — we don't promise a fixed number of messages. Message and data rates may apply. Consent to receive marketing or opportunity text messages is never required to use Lokals. Reply STOP at any time to stop text messages, or HELP for help — this does not opt you out of the operational messages needed to provide the service.

Verifying your phone number is separate from consenting to receive text messages. Verifying your number does not by itself enroll you in text messaging.

Marketing messages are handled separately and may be unsubscribed from at any time.

Your interactions with employers

Employers are independent third parties. Lokals is not responsible for an employer's workplace, employment terms, conduct, hiring decision or compliance with employment laws.

You should independently evaluate any employment opportunity before accepting it.

Acceptable use

You may not impersonate another person, provide knowingly false credentials, misuse another person's information, interfere with the service, attempt unauthorized access, scrape the platform, or use Lokals for fraudulent or unlawful purposes.

We may restrict or deactivate profiles where necessary to protect workers, employers, Lokals or the integrity of the service.

Closing your profile

You may stop using Lokals or request deletion of your profile. Some information may need to be retained temporarily for legal, security, fraud-prevention or legitimate business-record purposes as explained in our Privacy Policy.

Liability

Lokals provides a matching and introduction service. To the extent permitted by law, Lokals is not responsible for indirect or consequential losses arising from an employer relationship, missed employment opportunity, hiring decision or information supplied by another user.

Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot legally be waived.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Manitoba and applicable laws of Canada.
