Your Pre-Interview

The 15-minute phone call with an employer. How to get ready and what to do if plans change.

A Pre-Interview is a 15-minute phone call with an employer. The employer calls you. It is a first hello, not a full interview. Learn more

How it gets booked

  1. You said yes to the job, and the employer wants to talk.
  2. You get a text and email with a booking link.
  3. Pick a 15-minute time that works for you. We remind you until you book.
  4. The call goes on both calendars.
  5. On the day of the call, we text you at 9 am to check you can still make it. If your call is before 10 am, we text you at 7 pm the evening before.

Get ready

  • Be somewhere you can talk for 15 minutes.
  • Keep your phone close at the booked time. The call may come from a number you don't know.
  • Think of one or two jobs you did that show your skills.
  • Have your questions ready. Pay, hours and start date are good ones.

If you can't make it

Move or cancel the time with the link in your booking message, or reply to our text. If you cancel, please pick a new time within 7 days. We will help you pick a new time.

After the call

We may ask you how it went. If the employer wants to move forward, they will tell you the next step. That might be a full interview, a trial shift or an offer.
